Profile

John Cabot University is an American International University in Rome. Founded in 1972, John Cabot University is licensed by the Department of Education of the State of Delaware, accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association, and authorized by the Government of Italy to operate as an American four-year university in Italy. Located in the heart of the Eternal City, in the beautiful compound of the Italian National Academy of Sciences, John Cabot is a unique place. It combines the best qualities of American liberal arts education, with the history and rich cultural heritage of Rome , a city that is at the same time one of the cradles of western civilization and a vibrant center of international life.

Locale

The main campus is situated near St. Peter's and the Vatican in the charming Trastevere quarter, with a fine-arts annex on the other side of the Tiber River. The central Rome location means that students are literally surrounded by the history and art of thousands of years. John Cabot's strategic position in this world center of diplomacy, combined with the unique relationship enjoyed with leading multinational corporations, embassies, media and international organizations, also gives JCU students the opportunity to participate in exclusive internship programs and to be first-run candidates for distinguished job openings in the vibrant international market.

Accommodation

John Cabot University does not have residence halls or dormitories. However, the JCU Housing Office is committed to providing adequate and safe accommodations not far from the university. The apartments we use are all in desirable residential areas for both Romans and foreigners alike. Each neighborhood has its own character and is more like a small village within the large city of Rome.
